Adult Bible Fellowships PDF Print E-mail

One of the easiest ways to begin to connect with other adults at the church is to become part of an Adult Bible Fellowship.

Adult Bible Fellowships (ABFs) meet at various times (most meet on Sunday morning) and are much more than the typical adult education class.  ABFs are a community of like-minded people led by a leadership team of peers.  They are mid-sized groups (from 25 to 60 people) which means small enough to get to know people, yet large enough that you can work your way in relationally at your own pace.  Each ABF has at its core a point of affinity, such as a stage of life (i.e. adults with kids in Jr. Hi., or just for men, etc.).  Each ABF has its own character and feel.

When you walk into an ABF room you will find people standing around with coffee and treats or perhaps seated at a round table.  About 15 minutes into the ABF hour, a leader will bring the group to order.  One leader might give an announcement about an upcoming social event for the ABF group; another might ask for specific prayer needs and lead in a time of prayer.  These elements vary from ABF to ABF.

About a half hour into the community time, the program or teaching begins.  Teaching content is determined by each ABF's leadership team of peers, under the guidance of the Elder assigned to that particular ABF.  The leadership team has chosen topics that fit the unique needs of their ABF yet are balanced by the importance of presenting a well-rounded Biblical curriculum.  Teachers are part of the ABF Teaching Pool, so when you hear of a great series being presented in another ABF, you can be assured that eventually that teacher and series will be coming to your ABF.

How do you find the right ABF?  First, explore the links below.  Each ABF has an article on this website which will tell you about their affinity uniqueness, give you the details of when and where they meet, and may even include some current news.  If you are a regular attender at the church, you may ask for a user name and password.  When you log on to this website, you will see even more information about each ABF.

Next, feel free to check out several of them before deciding which one best fits your needs.

ABFs are a great "next step" to becoming involved in life at the eFree Church.
